Kami's Lookout RR: 8.0 Well, this is a new map by Sharpknux - it seems to be rather complex, with false walls, teleporters, lifters, and plenty more, so I needed a guided tour from the man himself before I could give you any coherent report on the place. It is based on "Dragonball Z" - if you were not told that, I think that your thoughts might stray towards the Arabian Nights, with the lustrous pale buildings in their carefully-managed grounds. And there are certainly magical things that happen here. Some good, some bad. So many different locations have we, linked by teleporters - some visible, some only found by accident - that it all gets very complex, and it is possible to get stuck between a sniping platform too high to jump from, and some entirely enclosed location, unable to do anything but teleport to and fro, when you can find the invisible teleporter in the first place... You really need to get behind the main throne, in the main building; the corner by the wall lets you into a room with weapons, and teleporters to a variety of places. Once you have worked out which is which, not to mention which way to leave an individual teleporter, then you are well on the way to making sense out of this arena. There are elevator platforms too, and various slightly hidden places, where perhaps a doubler, shield or megapower may be found; there is what looks like an ammunition armoury, until you realise that the grey walls are actually a view of a vast grey expanse, a timeless training area... Teleport into one of the towers, and you have an ideal sniping position... So, not an easy map; you don't have to be a little nutty to play here, but it helps! But stick with it and it has its rewards. It is unlike any previous NAB map in many ways, as you can tell from the screenshot, and that, in the hands of Sharpknux at any rate, is a good thing. |
